Our joint replacement preoperative class will teach you what to expect and how to prepare for joint replacement surgery. During the class, each step of the joint replacement process will be reviewed and you'll learn everything you need to know before coming to the hospital for surgery. Topics to be discussed include: planning at home, preparing yourself and your family, arranging and organizing your home, special equipment you may need, preparation for surgery, primary care physician visit, preoperative testing, what to bring with you to the hospital, preoperative instructions and restrictions, what happens during your hospital stay, where to check in, about your surgery, your stay at St. Anthony's Hospital planning to go home, discharge instructions and restrictions and home health care.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE BRING YOUR CONFIRMATION LETTER WITH YOU. You must arrive 15 minutes before the class to complete your registration. Participants who arrive late and do not complete the registration PRIOR to the start of the class must reschedule for a new class date. A car seat will not be provided; you must bring your own seat to this class. Your car seat installation will be inspected by a certified technician, so please be sure to have your car seat, car seat instructions and vehicle owner's manual with you. This class provides education on all 4 stages of child passenger safety.

Learn helpful tips, including how to use specific features on your devices, proper pressure settings and when to check with your physician. A discussion of the changes in hospital care over the past few decades as well as the latest recommendations in newborn and infant care will be covered and a visit to the labor and delivery and mother-baby units is offered. The tour requires standing in one place for short periods of time and walking long distances. We suggest participants wear comfortable walking shoes for the tour. The fee for the class includes both grandparents.

This is a CaPSS cancer support group for adult cancer patients and/or their caregiver(s). This group provides emotional support and information on developing positive coping skills for facing the challenging journey with cancer. Registration is not required.

The tour of the facility requires standing in one place for short periods of time and walking long distances. We suggest registrants wear comfortable walking shoes. This class helps expectant mothers become informed, active participants in the childbirth process. We'll help you understand pregnancy and labor, cesarean birth, postpartum coping strategies, comfort measures, medications and postpartum adjustment. Learn about getting breastfeeding off to a good start, as well as the basics of caring for your newborn in the first weeks. You'll also receive an I Expect Delivery Planning Guide. Plan to attend no later than the beginning of your seventh month of pregnancy. The fee for this class is per couple.
