We'll help you understand pregnancy and labor, cesarean birth, postpartum coping strategies, comfort measures, medications and postpartum adjustment. Learn about getting breastfeeding off to a good start, as well as the basics of caring for your newborn in the first weeks. You'll also receive an I Expect Delivery Planning Guide. Plan to attend no later than the beginning of your seventh month of pregnancy. The fee for this class is per couple.

This tour will include a triage room, the Labor and Delivery suite, Post Partum room, and a look at the nursery. We will discuss the common practices at the hospital so that you will be familiar with the hospital before you come to have your baby. Registration is for the expectant mother and one additional guest. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the start time so the tour can begin on time. Mease Countryside Hospital offers a prenatal program and tour of the Labor and Delivery unit as well as the Neonatal Intensive Care unit for expectant mothers (and a support person) whose babies are at risk for developing Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome. Babies may be affected by prescription medications, illicit drugs, nicotine or caffeine. The class will provide the expectant mom with signs and symptoms of withdrawal after the baby is born, and how to care for the baby. Only expectant mothers who share the same concerns will be attending the program.
