Cholesterol screenings are available the fourth Tuesday of every month in the South Florida Baptist Hospital's main lobby from 2:00 - 3:00. This screening is once a month, cost is $30 per person. Results are given at time of screening. Screening includes total cholesterol, HDL and glucose results. Along with a blood pressure screening and counseling on results. Registration not necessary, walk-in basis only. First Come First Serve. Payments taken by cash or check at time of service.

This is a support group for women who may be experiencing postpartum depression or other perinatal mood associated with pregnancy or birth. What to expect from the support group: education, support, discussion and socializing. Symptoms may include lack of energy, feelings of shame or guilt, sadness and crying, difficulty concentrating and/or the inability to bond with your baby.

Our Women's Cancer Support Group connects you with other women in similar situations. You'll learn how they are facing challenges just like yours, and you'll have the opportunity to tell your story and listen to theirs. You may gain strength and comfort from their support. The group is open to women of all ages and all types of cancer.

This is a one on one appointment for customers to be taught how to properly install their car seat and make necessary corrections. Please be aware that this is not an installation service. Allow 30-45 minutes for this individual appointment. Bring the vehicle's owner's manual and the car seat instructions with you. Each car seat that needs inspection, must have a scheduled appointment.

Mease Countryside Hospital offers a prenatal program and tour of the Labor and Delivery unit as well as the Neonatal Intensive Care unit for expectant mothers (and a support person) whose babies are at risk for developing Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome. Babies may be affected by prescription medications, illicit drugs, nicotine or caffeine. The class will provide the expectant mom with signs and symptoms of withdrawal after the baby is born, and how to care for the baby. Only expectant mothers who share the same concerns will be attending the program.

Our joint replacement preoperative class will teach you what to expect and how to prepare for joint replacement surgery. During the class, each step of the joint replacement process will be reviewed and you'll learn everything you need to know before coming to the hospital for surgery. Topics to be discussed include: planning at home, preparing yourself and your family, arranging and organizing your home, special equipment you may need, preparation for surgery, primary care physician visit, preoperative testing, what to bring with you to the hospital, preoperative instructions and restrictions, what happens during your hospital stay, where to check in, about your surgery, your stay at St. Anthony's Hospital planning to go home, discharge instructions and restrictions and home health care.

The birthing tour will help you and your loved one feel "at home" when you come to deliver your baby. Your visit includes a tour of our Labor and Birth suites, Mother-Baby Unit, as well as other important areas. Your tour guide is an OB team member and will describe and explain your hospital stay from admission to discharge. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions as you take the tour.

This is a CaPSS cancer support group for adult cancer patients and/or their caregiver(s). This group provides emotional support and information on developing positive coping skills for facing the challenging journey with cancer. Registration is not required.

This full-day class provides the basic information a good babysitter needs to know such as handling situations from minor to life threatening, how to rescue a choking infant or child, how to communicate with EMS, safety hints, accident and behavior management, how to entertain kids and other babysitting tips. Students must be at least 11 years old, no exceptions.

Coping with Motherhood. This group provides a supportive environment for women and offers opportunity to talk, share and support other women who are challenged with everyday life stressors, adjusting to new roles, experiencing emotional changes and/or having challenges with new motherhood.This group is led by a Social Service Specialist who has experience working with pregnant and new moms. This group is open to all postpartum women who have delivered up to one year ago.
